Cohorted Beauty Box May 2020 – Unboxing and Product Reviews

My oh my! This months Cohorted box was soooo heavy, I knew it was going to be a good one before I even opened it!

The Cohorted box was as always the standard black, square box that closes with a lid. The box also came with its monthly, small beauty magazine (about 30 pages) that tells you a little bit more about each product and some featured products or artists.

Cohorted May 2020 contained 5 full size Show products. I love the one brand boxes they do!

Let’s have a look at the products in more detail. These are short reviews that cover first impressions and experiences from using the products. For full reviews, including ingredient analysis and if I would recommend a product or not, check out: Beauty In-depth Reviews & Ingredient Analysis (all articles here). Bear in mind that these are my personal opinions and that beauty is a very personal thing, we all have different skin, requirements and biological build which can influence things. Show Beauty Lux Volume Lotion

I’m probably the worst person to judge volumising products because my hair is very voluminous naturally and I have to go to great lengths to bring it back to earth. This spray lotion looks gorgeous and gave my hair even more volume, after activating with heat.

It also contains some good ingredients, such as amino acids and sunflower extract, which can condition the hair. The product bottle feels very heavy and looks luxurious.

This is a full size lotion, 150mL, which lasts for 18M and retails for £40. SCORE = 8/10

Show Beauty Dedadence Hair Fragrance

You might be thinking, hair frangrace? Why? Well actually, I think it’s quite usuful! In this busy age we live in, there will always be a day when you just don’t have time to wash your hair and even if you use a dry shampoo to get you through the day, it will not smell very fresh. Smelling fresh and good is not just about others, it’s about feeling good in your body. So a hair perfume makes total sense to me for those specific occasions.

Show Beauty Dedadence Hair Fragrance

I love the scent of this, it’s sweet, soft and luxurious but not heavy like a perfume. It doesn’t have that alcohol type scent. It doesn’t smell like anything specific so it’s hard to compare it to something, it’s quite unique! It’s the same though as with all Show Beauty products I’ve ever tried and I like that because it gives character and cohesion.

It even contains some good ingredients, such as Jojoba Oil, vitamin E and Aloe Vera, although they are likely wasted on hair, as it is dead. Either way it’s a feel good product and it achieves that instantly. I just realised the brand does a dry shampoo…ah I need to try that!

This fragrance is full size, 30mL, lasts for 24M and retails for £55. It’s expensive but it is luxurious. SCORE = 9/10

Show Beauty Divine Thickening Mist

This mist expands the diameter of individual hair strands to make them thicker, once activated by heat. Again, I am not a good person to judge this product as my hair is thick already. I couldn’t really tell the difference between thick and thick and I don’t know how much of it was the product and how much was my natural hair but I thought that the product worked. At the very least my hair felt full bodied. It would be much easier to judge and more useful to use on thin hair.

The product also contains some nice ingredients such as luchee extract, aloe vera, mango, ginger and kiwi extracts.

This is a full size spray, 150mL, which lasts for 18M and retails for £35. SCORE = 8/10

Show Beauty Sublime Repair Treatment Mask

I don’t know if this mask did much, my hair rarely changes from masks in general, but it was incredibly pleasant to use and the experience was very luxurious.

I will have to use this more to figure out whether it makes a difference, it’s hard to judge this type of product from one use, plus coincidently I also just changed my shampoo so I don’t know yet which product does what. I will test this further and probably dedicate an entire post on it.

Show Beauty Sublime Repair Treatment Mask

It contains some nourishing ingredients, such as hydrolysed pea, quinoa protein, pro-vitamin B5, caviar and white truffle extracts. The hair feels moisturised and healthy although, since the hair our of the skin is dead, the ingredients will just condition it, not nourish. You can nourish your scalp skin though! The majority of the ingredients in this mask are listed after phenoxyethanol, meaning that they are present in very small quantities but that is true for most masks anyways.

All you need to do with this mask is put it on wet hair for 10 minutes and then rinse. This is a full size mask, 200mL, which lasts for 12M and retails for £40. Luxury! SCORE = 9/10

Show Beauty Body Shimmer Oil

Summer is around the corner, although not sure how much we will get to go out ! Anyhow, a shimmer oil is perfect for this time of year.

Show Beauty Body Shimmer Oil

The product works well, it adds shimmer with tiny glitter pieces and it looks gorgeous. It spreads easily and evenly and it even contains some nourishing ingredients such as argan oil, jojoba oil, aloe vera and vitamin E. It adds a tiny bit of colour, so it can enhance your tan or give you a little sun kissed glow. It’s only downside is that it didn’t seem to stay on the skin long.

The bottle is just gorgeous! So luxurious and heavy, it’s the type of product you can use for decorating your room too!

This oil is full size, 60mL, lasts for 24M and retails for £35. SCORE = 9/10

Cohorted Beauty Box May 2020

Overall, I loved this month’s box. I really like the one brand only concept, the fact that all products were full size and full of luxury. I also really like Show Beauty, I’ve tried other products from the before these ones and they are all very luxurious and good quality. This is exactly what a Cohorted box should be like. Yes!

Initial box score, in terms of products and first feelings = 10/10

Overall box score after product testing (average of product scores) = 8.6/10

Box value = £205

Star product = Show Beauty Dedadence Hair Fragrance
