Wellthos advertises itself as an Expert-led Health and Fitness subscription box and their motto is to inspire your health choices.

If you are intrigued, you have two options. You can either get a trial box where you pay £25.99 for a one-off box (includes delivery charge), no strings attached, just for you to try it out and see if you like it. However, if you decide that you do like it or want to try it out for a couple of months before deciding, you can subscribe to a monthly rolling plan which will cost you £22.99 (includes delivery). I believe you can cancel your subscription any time without implications but don’t quote me on that.

The Wellthos boxes usually arrive sometime in the first 2 weeks of the month and include 10 products inside. The Wellthos box containing the products is actually protected with an outer, post box so the products and Wellthos box always arrive in excellent condition. At least, I’ve never received anything damaged so far.

The Wellthos box is a simple brown cardboard box but it is fairly sturdy and of good quality. It has the Wellthos logo at the front and the products inside are wrapped under a plastic sheet that is held together with a Wellthos sticker.

Each month the box comes with a little booklet that contains a little intro and explanation on what each product is and does. It also contains 2-3 recipes that you can follow using some of the products included in the box. This is a really great feature because you might not otherwise know how to use some of the products and it gives you the chance to try out new recipes. For example, the August 2017 Wellthos box included a Tiger nut flour which was a lovely thing to try and it was nice to have a recipe to make granola bars out of it. Otherwise, I honestly don’t know what I could have done with Tiger nut flour.

The booklet also contains a workout of some sort, nothing too hardcore so don’t worry if you are not a complete fitness fanatic. It is usually yoga, or pilates or simple exercises that you can do anytime, anywhere, not matter of your fitness level. Sometimes they even include ideas and recipes on how to use some of the fitness products contained in the box.

Talking of fitness products, the box usually contains 1-2 fitness products a month. This means that out of the 10 products you get in your box every month, 1-2 of them will be fitness related. Previous months included a muscle pain reducer/relaxant cream, a massage ball, protein powder, resistance bands etc. The fitness products could be anything fitness related, both consumable food items and non-food items.

I personally like and enjoy this box. I have discovered many products that I would have never found out about on my own or bought, even if I saw them somewhere. Some of them were hits and of course some of them were misses, but the idea of health and fitness is all about that. Trying out lots of things until you find the ones that work for you.

The box gives you a satisfying unboxing experience and you will get excited and engaged with the products contained. It is not a box that I would call value for money, meaning that you won’t make more than your money’s worth, you will get what you payed for. This is not a box for re-stocking your food pantry cheaply, it is a box for discovering new products, trying out new things and keeping you motivated to be healthy and fit.

Wellthos describes itself as a health and fitness box, however, if you are a hardcore fitness junkie like me, you might see this more as a health box than a fitness box. It is very light on the fitness side and even the health products contained are not always “hardcore fitness” relevant. This is not a box to support your high in protein and fit controlled diet, this is a box for the average person that wants to be healthy and engages in light/moderate exercise. With that being said, that doesn’t mean that you cannot make use of the products contained if you are a hardcore fitness junkie, it just won’t always have products that are within the health/fitness specifications that you are looking for.

If you are looking for a “hardcore” fitness box there are other more suitable subscription boxes like for example the “New3fit Box” and “The Fit-Box”.
